On tonight’s episode, Glenn was born. The first few hours were great, but a few hours later Michael took a COVID test and he is positive. Amy is worried about Glenn getting COVID, will he get it. Later, she finds out that Glenn is COVID free, and they are going home. Michael has to stay away from them for ten days. This will be the longest that Amy is away form Michael since they have been dating. Amy and Glenn are staying at Amanda’s house, Amy is so scared, people have died of COVID and she can’t do this on her own.
Tammy is doing some coloring. A few days ago the doctors gave her the approval to go take all her testes to see if she can et her weight loss surgery and she is so excited. Tammy is so happy about Amy having the baby. Tammy is inspiriting people at the clinic because she has done so well reaching her goal. She knows there are more doctors to see, she is not completely in the clear. The only doctor she is worried about is the lung doctor because of when she had COVID it messed up her lungs and the smoking. She is going to therapy as well, and she hopes she has made enough progress. She feels like she is at the top of a roller coaster, but she is not there yet.
Ten days later, Amy got off the phone with Michael, he is COVID free and they can go home. She is so excited to bring her son home officially. Glenn first met his big brother at the hospital, they are going to be reunited at home and Amy is so excited to have her family reunited.
Amanda and Amy arrive at the house. Amanda goes inside to get Michael, so he can help. Michael goes in the van and takes Glenn. Amy says she is so glad to be home, it feels good. Michael says he misses everyone. Amanda tells them to call if they need anything. Michael says his COVID wasn’t so bad, he did have a terrible headache, but he is glad it is over. Amy says Michael was on vacation, the house is messy like she left it, all he did was play video games.
Chris says life has been crazy, so today they are at his cousin Cindy’s house so they can go horseback riding. Amy and Michael arrive with the boys. This is their first outing as a family. Amy thinks she is getting there hours of sleep a night with the new schedule. Everyone sits down for a BBQ. Now that Amy had the baby, she knows she has to get back on track, being morbidly obese it is hard to keep up with Gage. Amanda says she cut out the snacking. Her diet and exercise journey is going, but some days it is easy and some days it is not.
Gage is crying, Glenn is mad and wants another bottle and Michael is doing nothing. Sometimes she feels like she has three kids. Everybody is having a good time, Amy walks off with Gage because he won’t stop crying. Michael is sitting there like he can’t hear anything. Amanda gets up, gives Glenn to Chris to go and help Amy. Amy is by herself, she starts crying, she doesn’t know how she is going to be a mother to two boys.
Amanda tells Amy that Gage just wanted to go play, wipe her eyes, it is not her fault. Amanda tells her that she is a good mom. Amy says it is hard for her to say she is a good mom. Amanda hugs her and tells her she is doing a great job and she is a doing a good job. Chris thinks Amy is doing a good job, he hopes the activities will set the tone for everyone to have fun. To be able to go horseback riding is a huge milestone in Chris’ weight loss journey. It is a sense of an amazing accomplishment. He is so grateful for the transformation that he has made.
Tammy is getting ready to leave, she is going to get her tests to find out if she can get her surgery. Chris calls her and says he is thinking of her and wishes her well. Tammy is leaving by ambulance, just to make sure that all goes well, she had a medic and nurse taking her for her four hour drive. Tammy starts coughing, her head is too low. They make it to their destination, the worst problem is that Tammy has to go to the bathroom, that is good. Her next challenge is to get through all the approvals. Chris and Amanda go to see Tammy, but she is feeling a little nauseous and dizzy, they drive may have been a lot for her. When they get in her room, her trash isn’t capped so she can’t talk. She motions to her stomach, its still upset. Amanda tells her it is probably the travelling that was hard, it is exhausting at her size. The last time Tammy travelled, she went in a coma. Chris tells her to stay in bed and get lots of rest.
Tammy is in front of her doctor, he tells her that she had a pulmonary emobolism in the past so she will have to stay on blood thinners after surgery. Her lungs, she has had a history with pulmonary disease, she has 39% of some kind of pulmonary incident. She has real risks for heart, she could have an event, her risks are higher than other people. All around, Tammy is approved, but the risks are scary. The therapy, he needs to know that when it hits the fan, she won’t go back to old habits. Chris thinks she has dealt with some of her demons. The risk of her staying where she is, is far greater than having surgery.
