Agam is a Bangalore (India) based contemporary Carnatic progressive rock band. The band was formed in 2003. The band borrows their name from the Tamil word 'Agam' which means the 'Heart, soul or the Inner soul'. Agam has gained popularity for their innovative approach to reinterpreting classical Indian compositions and folk melodies in a contemporary style. The seven member ensemble includes Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals), Praveen Kumar (guitars), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards), Shiva Nagarajan (Multi-percussionist),  Aditya Kashyap (Bass), Jagadish Natrajan (Rhythm Guitars), and Yadhunandan Nagaraj (Drums). At the heart of it, Agam’s music imbibes the soul and timbre of Indian Carnatic music, with a tasteful tinge of Progressive Rock that creates a beautiful tapestry of melodies, rhythm structures and time signatures. It's a journey back to the roots, inspired by music to find the inner-self.
