Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper are close friends who have both experienced the same major life change in the past year or so. Cohen welcomed his son Benjamin in February 2019, and Cooper just became the dad of a son he named Wyatt. The Watch What Happens Live host just revealed that he is sure Benjamin and Wyatt will grow up to be besties just like their dads.

On Sunday morning, Cohen answered some fan questions on his Instagram Story, and the topic of a potential Benjamin and Wyatt friendship immediately came up. When a fan asked Cohen if the two boys “will be best friends” Cohen answered with a big smile and a thumbs up.

Cohen also revealed that he would “love” to have more children, and when a fan asked what keeps him “hopeful” amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the 51-year-old simply answered “Ben” along with a picture of his son playing with toys.

Both Cohen and Cooper welcomed their sons via surrogate, and Cohen was one of the first people to find out that Cooper had become a first-time dad. During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the CNN anchor admitted that he didn’t have the chance to buy baby clothes because of the lockdown, so he was relying on Ben’s hand-me-downs.

“He’s actually really helped me because my son is entirely wearing hand-me-downs from Andy Cohen’s son,” said Cooper. “I’m inherently cheap, I like a good value … and, first of all, it’s a pandemic — I was planning on going shopping, which I hate to do, and then, like, online shopping, how do you do that for baby clothes? I don’t know, it just seemed weird. So, yeah, he just gave me all the clothes.”

Cooper joked that watching Cohen become a dad and having such a great experience as a first-time parent made it clear that he would be just fine having a baby on his own. Cooper said that Cohen has been encouraging him all along, and he figured if Cohen could do it, so could he. Cooper described Benjamin as “incredible” and an “amazing” kid.

In addition to getting Ben’s clothes, baby Wyatt is also sharing a nanny with his future best friend. Andy Cohen recently revealed on his SiriusXM radio show that his nanny left to take care of Wyatt, and they had planned the transition well in advance. However, they never dreamed it would take place in the middle of a pandemic.
