Who Is Sting Facing In His Final Match?

Sting's Last Match Is Set With Darby Allin As His Partner

Close

Sting's final match will be against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, "The Young Bucks", who have been repackaged as two brothers who have taken their role at AEW EVP's to a new level, using their power to their advantage to corrupt AEW and attempt to rid the company of any wrestler or personality that stands in their way.

A few weeks ago, after Sting and Darby Allin captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships, Sting celebrated his victory with his sons, Garret and Steven, in what should've been a special moment for the Borden family that turned ugly. The Young Bucks attacked the new champs and even attacked Steven and Garret Borden.

A week later on AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin replied to the heinous assault constructed by the power-tripping Young Bucks. Darby Allin showed a picture of Sting with his sons from 1998, saying they were about the same age as The Young Bucks' own children. Sting revealed that his father passed away recently at the age of 89, discussing how much a hero he was to him. A clearly emotional Sting questioned his own mortality, but promised the fans and wrestling critics that he will bring everything he had "left in him" at Revolution.

Which Wrestling Legends Will Be In Attendance For Sting's Last Match?

Will Lex Luger And Kevin Nash Be At AEW Revolution?

Close

Outside of Ric Flair, who is participating in the storyline and has left his allegiance in question heading into AEW Revolution, we do have information regarding two wrestling legends who may or may not be at Sting's final match. Kevin Nash commented on his "Kliq This" podcast that he cannot attend Sting's last match because of his contract through WWE, preventing him from being shown on AEW television.

"He asked me to be a part of it. I just said that, you know, with my positioning with WWE, I couldn't... I think he wanted me to be there because I was just one of the guys who has been there with him the whole run. Yeah, I think he was disappointed. I mean, I was disappointed." (H/T : Cultaholic )

"The Total Package" Lex Luger, commented on appearing at AEW Revolution on his "Lex Expressed" podcast. Luger gave an interesting answer to that question.

“You want me to answer that? Let me put it this way. I will go back to 35 years of friendship. Friendship sometimes transcends the kayfabe or workup the other and there may be ramifications or there may not. Sting was there for me at three in the morning when I had my motorcycle wreck and they wanted to cut my arm off and kind of stopped the doctors from cutting my arm off. So people could read into that what they want, on whether I might be at the building or not. I won’t confirm anything, but I’m just saying. I’ll leave it in that context. How’s that?” (H/T: PWMania )

Other names and legends from Sting's past have yet to comment, but we will likely see several surprise names in attendance for the show or in some capacity at least. Wrestling fans, be sure to tune in to AEW Revolution on March 3rd to enjoy Sting's last match and to celebrate his historic wrestling career.
