Rihanna has never been afraid to say exactly what was on her mind — and that certainly hasn’t changed in the past few days. The superstar, who allegedly turned down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl this past Sunday, made sure the whole world knew her thoughts on the big event.

According to insiders, the “Love on the Brain” singer turned down the performance opportunity because she doesn’t agree with how the NHL treated Colin Kaepernick. “The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta. They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance,” an insider told US Weekly.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for several years, you know that Kaepernick was the first NFL player the kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality. He has not played since the controversy began in 2016, and he has since filed a collusion grievance against the league and its owners.
