Step Inside Dok-Ondars Den of Antiquities

Bright suns traveller and welcome to Batuu. Don’t worry. I know better than to ask what brings you this far into the Outer Rim. We here in Batuu know how to mind our own business. However, I will ask if I can help you find anything here at Black Spire Outpost.

What’s that? You say you are looking for ancient artifacts and curiosities? You are in luck. We must visit Dok-Ondar. He is the proprietor of Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Ondar is an Ithorian, and perhaps the most important thing to know about him is that he will trade any treasure for the right price.

His shop is located near Docking Bay 7, where you can sample some of our fine local cuisine. Outside of the shop, you will see a beautiful statue from the Jedi Temple at Coruscant. Standing beside the statue is an Ithorian gravestone. Rumor has it that this gravestone was created for Dok-Ondar’s parents, who died under rather mysterious circumstances. If you see him in his shop, it is best not to mention this.

After stepping inside, you should prepare to be overwhelmed by the sheer size of Ondar’s collection. There are so many items that it would take more time than we have to document them all. However, I’ll mention a few of the highlights. In a glass case, you’ll find an infant sarlacc. Yes, the very same type of creature Jabba the Hutt attempted to use to devour Han Solo. Coincidentally, this specimen was recovered by Solo and delivered to Ondar. Above the stairs, you’ll see a beautiful statuette from Jedha’s Temple of the Kyber. Ondar obtained it with the help of Hona Ohnaka. The piece was guarded by the Guardians of the Whills. Ondar persuaded them to part with the piece, and it seems he mentioned that his parents died because of an archaeological artifact similar to the statuette. As a side note, you can meet the pirate Ohnaka by visiting Ohnaka Transport Solutions elsewhere in Black Spire Outpost. He may even enlist you to help with a mission aboard the Millennium Falcon. Perhaps the most curious part of the collection can be seen on the second level of Ondar’s shop. It is the Ark of the Covenant. An ancient human relic from the planet Earth, it was once found by a human named Indiana Jones who bears a startling resemblance to one Han Solo.

Alright, enough history. There is much to see and much available for purchase here, but I see that you are examining the holocrons in Ondar’s shop. They are, as you no doubt know, devices that were used to store the most important secrets of the Jedi and Sith order. Only one with force sensitivity can activate a holocron to learn its secrets. Ondar has both Sith and Jedi holocrons available for purchase. The Jedi holocrons are cubes. The Sith holocrons are pyramids. If you purchase a holocron, it will come with a kyber crystal inside. These powerful crystals typically come from Ilum’s Crystal Cave, and they are also the primary component in light sabers. In addition to holocrons, you can also purchase individual kyber crystals. These will contain messages from various Jedi or Sith masters.

Kyber crystals are available in red, blue, green, yellow, purple, white, and black. The black crystals are extremely rare, and you will only find one by chance. The voice contained within the kyber crystal varies, depending on if it is placed in a Jedi or Sith holocron. Blue crystals can contain the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi or Luke Skywalker. Green crystals may contain the voice of Master Yoda or Qui-Gon Jin. Purple crystals reveal the voice of Mace Windu. White crystals may be Ahsoka Tano or Chirrut Imwe. Yellow crystals are powered with messages from Maz Kanata (who is not a Jedi, but particularly force sensitive) or a member of the Jedi Temple Guard. Place any of these crystals into a Sith holocron, and it will reveal the voice of Darth Sidious.

There are four variations of red crystals. They may contain the voice of Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Darth Vader, or Emperor Palpatine. Place any of these voices in the Jedi holocron, and you will hear the voice of Master Yoda.

Should you come across the rare black kyber crystal, you will either hear the voice of Supreme Leader Snoke in a Sith Holocron or Master Yoda in a Jedi holocron.

I hope, dear traveller, that this has helped you find the treasure you seek. I will leave you now to make your choice.

Til the spires friend.
