    Tommaso Ciampa Facts

  • Tommaso had started his professional wrestling career in 2005 and after slugging it out on the independent circuit for nearly 2 years, he had been signed up on a developmental contract by WWE in 2007 and was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling. His joy was short-lived though as he had been released from the contract by August 2007. It was partly to do with the fact that he had spent most of that phase out of action due to an injury that he had sustained early in his stint there.
  • Until March 2014, in parallel with his professional wrestling career, he had worked a part-time job managing a fitness studio. He had once mentioned in an interview that he would love to become a backstage producer or coach once he retires from wrestling.
  • As Tommaso Ciampa, he had made his video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K18 and was featured again in WWE 2K20. He could not appear in WWE 2K19 as he was nursing a severe injury around that time and thus could not provide motion capture during the production of the game.
  • In 2019, he was ranked at number 13 in the PWI 500, an annual list of the 500 best professional wrestlers in the world, published by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine. A year ago, he had been ranked at number 9 by Sports Illustrated magazine in its list of the ’10 Best Male Wrestlers of 2018′.
  • As of September 2021, he was a two-time NXT Champion and a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion, making him one of just 4 wrestlers in history to have captured both titles at least once.
